The Edison National Historic Site houses Glenmont, the laboratory and home of the great scientist and inventor Thomas Edison. It's located in the New Jersey suburb of West Orange, next to lovely Llewellyn Park, and about 20 miles west of New York City. Visitors to the site can take guided tours of Edison's Chemistry Lab, machine shops, stock rooms, and main lab, which once employed as many as 60 workers and was the site of more than 1,000 patents.

Adults $3; Seniors and Children 16 and under are free.
